“A Silent Rescue”
Short documentary film for the Directorate for the Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments
Hellenic Ministry of Culture

Cinefaces Productions has completed the production of the short documentary film “A Silent Rescue”, created for the Directorate for the Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments, which operates under the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.

The film documents a large-scale conservation project focused on the preservation of movable heritage objects from the former Royal Estate of Tatoi. Through direct observation of real working environments, the documentary highlights the scientific methodology, systematic processes, and collaborative effort required for the conservation of cultural heritage.

The project presents the scope and outcome of a multi-year operation involving the preventive conservation of approximately 45,000 objects, alongside the preparation of over 8,000 artifacts for future exhibition, within the broader cultural restoration program of the Tatoi Estate.

The film adopts a restrained and documentary-driven cinematic approach, prioritizing clarity, accuracy, and respect for the institutional nature of the work. Visual language, sound design, and pacing are designed to support the narrative of responsibility, expertise, and completion, without dramatization.

The project was implemented within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, and forms part of the action “Development of infrastructure and restoration of buildings at the former Royal Estate of Tatoi.”
